Job Description

AT A GLANCE

The Production Planner is responsible for overseeing end-to-end production planning, monitoring, and execution across assigned product categories through external suppliers and contract manufacturers. This role supervises Production Planning Associates and ensures production schedules, supplier commitments, international customer requirements, and shipment readiness align with Sunnies Inc.s launch timelines, inventory needs, and business priorities.

YOUR OVERALL MISSION & DAY-TO-DAY

Production Planning and Execution

  • Oversee production planning, scheduling, and monitoring for Eyewear and Flask categories from mass production to stocks warehouse arrival in the Philippines.
  • Establish and maintain standard lead times, production sequences, and critical milestones to meet Ex-Factory, packing, and shipping deadlines.
  • Review and approve production plans prepared by team members before alignment with Strategic Sourcing.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules are accurate, realistic, and followed by suppliers.

International Customer Order Fulfillment

  • Ensure stocks allocated for international customers are properly monitored, tracked, and prioritized throughout production and pre-shipment stages.
  • Monitor international customer orders to ensure they are served in full and on time (IFOT) based on confirmed purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific packing, labeling, cartonization, and shipping requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with Logistics, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure export readiness and timely shipment execution.
  • Proactively identify risks to international deliveries and implement mitigation plans to avoid short shipments or delays.

Supplier & Contract Manufacturer Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for production issues, delays, and capacity constraints with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Develop mitigation and recovery plans to address production risks, compressed timelines, and unexpected delays.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive accountability against agreed production schedules and commitments.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to evaluate supplier reliability, lead time performance, and improvement opportunities.

People Management & Team Leadership

  • Supervise and coach Production Planning Associates, assigned to a product category.
  • Assign workload, set priorities, and ensure clear role ownership per category.
  • Review team outputs including production trackers, reports, and system entries for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify skill gaps and support team development in production planning, supplier coordination, and system usage.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with Strategic Sourcing, Quality, Logistics, Warehouse, and Demand teams to ensure seamless execution from PO to shipment.
  • Ensure SKUs are scheduled for inspection, packing, and shipment based on confirmed delivery timelines.
  • Provide timely updates on schedule changes, risks, and resolutions to all relevant stakeholders.

Monitoring, Reporting & Systems

  • Oversee maintenance and accuracy of production monitoring files and system-based tracking (e.g., PO, shipment status).
  • Review and consolidate production and international fulfillment status reports for management visibility.
  • Ensure shipment details and actual shipped SKUs are aligned with approved POs and customer requirements.
  • Standardize and continuously improve shared production and pre-shipping monitoring tools and files.

Process Improvement & Metrics

  • Review and enhance production planning, international fulfillment, and pre-shipping processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop, track, and analyze KPIs related to:
  • On-time production
  • In-full delivery
  • International customer order fulfillment
  • Supplier performance and lead time reliability
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks and recommend process or system improvements.

YOUR TALENT

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or any related field
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, preferably with experience as a lead.
  • Experience in Vendor management and supplier coordination
  • Preferably a background in retail
