Job Description
The Production Manager will oversee the overall production operations, ensuring that manufacturing activities are completed efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards and production targets. The role will lead the production team, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production operations and ensure production plans and targets are achieved.
- Manage production schedules, manpower allocation, and resource utilization.
- Monitor production output, efficiency, quality, and operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, health and safety, and company standards.
- Identify production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and other departments.
- Monitor equipment and process performance and coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Analyze production data and prepare regular operational reports.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and ensure adherence to established processes.
- Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and operators.
- Ensure proper manpower planning, training, and performance management within the production team.
- Support new product introductions, process improvements, and other plant projects.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, productivity, and accountability within the production team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Technology, or a related field.
- At least 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing or production operations, with several years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong experience in production planning, process improvement, manpower management, and plant operations.
- Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or other high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and occupational safety standards.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or other continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Willing to work in a plant/manufacturing environment and on a shifting schedule when required.
