Production Manager (Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling) | Remote and Nightshift

About the Job

We are looking for an exceptional, highly accountable Production Manager who is an expert in U.S. cabinetry, cabinet-refacing materials, and porcelain tile procurement for high-end residential kitchen and bathroom remodeling. You will own material readiness from the sold-project handoff through takeoff, vendor quotation, purchase order, acknowledgment, delivery, inspection, discrepancy resolution, installation support, and final cost reconciliation.

The right person understands how U.S. cabinet and tile suppliers operate, knows what installers need for a complete and accurate installation, catches specification and measurement conflicts before release, and follows every order until the correct materials are inspected and ready at the right project at the right time.

Responsibilities

1. Sold-Project Audit & Release Readiness

• Audit proposals, drawings, selections, allowances, specifications, site measurements, appliance details, and client commitments for completeness and consistency.
• Identify missing information, dimension conflicts, construction constraints, long-lead items, discontinued products, and supplier limitations; drive resolution before any order is released.
• Maintain a formal release checklist and obtain required internal/client approvals. Never order from assumptions or unverified field information.

2. Cabinetry Takeoffs, Specifications & Ordering

• Read and reconcile floor plans, elevations, cabinet legends, 2020 Design or comparable drawings, field measurements, and appliance specifications.
• Create complete cabinet orders, including boxes, doors, drawer bases, finished ends, skins, panels, fillers, scribes, toe kicks, moldings, valances, trim, hardware, organizers, accessories, touch-up materials, and installation components.
• Understand framed and frameless construction; stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinetry; full-overlay and inset applications; standard modifications; finish and species options; door styles; cabinet nomenclature; supplier modification codes; and installation clearances.
• Verify handedness, finished sides, exposed interiors, end conditions, door/drawer clearances, appliance openings, crown build-ups, refrigerator panels, islands, sink bases, tall cabinets, and transition details before release.
• Solicit and compare quotations, prepare accurate purchase orders, release orders through approved U.S. supplier portals or representatives, and verify acknowledgments line by line.

3. Cabinet Refacing Materials

• Build complete refacing packages from verified door and drawer-front measurements, opening counts, exposed surfaces, and approved finish/style selections.
• Order replacement doors, drawer fronts, drawer boxes, hinges, mounting plates, slides, knobs/pulls, veneer or pressure- sensitive laminate, matching skins, end panels, toe-kick material, fillers, moldings, trim, adhesives, edge treatments, touch-up products, and job-specific accessories.
• Account for overlay, reveal, boring patterns, hinge type, door swing, grain direction, finished edges, material thickness, color/finish match, and field-installation tolerances.
• Prevent mismatched dye lots, profiles, finishes, and component specifications by using controlled samples, approved selections, and documented supplier confirmations.

4. Porcelain Tile Takeoffs & Ordering

• Calculate accurate quantities from approved plans and verified dimensions for floors, shower walls, shower floors, niches, benches, backsplashes, curbs, base, and feature areas, including appropriate waste for layout, pattern, cuts, breakage, and attic stock.
• Verify tile size and actual dimensions, thickness, finish, rectification, shade and caliber, lot consistency, slip-resistance suitability, approved grout-joint assumptions, pattern/orientation, trim availability, movement-joint needs, and installation- system compatibility.
• Order field tile, mosaics, bullnose or profiles, thresholds, shelves, trim, setting materials, membranes, backer materials, waterproofing components, grout, sealant, spacers/leveling systems, and related accessories when included in scope.
• Understand porcelain-versus-ceramic applications, large-format porcelain handling, shower-floor requirements, wet-area limitations, substrate implications, ANSI/TCNA-related product compatibility, freight classes, pallet quantities, and lot-control risks.

5. U.S. Supplier & Vendor Management

• Maintain working expertise in U.S. cabinet, refacing, tile, setting-material, and accessory supplier catalogs, price books, portals, terminology, order rules, lead times, freight policies, warranties, return policies, claims, and escalation channels.
• Develop responsive relationships with manufacturer representatives, dealers, distributors, fabricators, and logistics partners; obtain written commitments and escalate risks early.
• Evaluate supplier options based on specification fit, quality, landed cost, lead time, service, warranty support, availability, and project risk—not price alone.
• Track discontinued items, price changes, minimums, production cutoffs, holiday closures, backorders, substitutions, and market constraints; propose approved alternatives without compromising design intent or quality.

6. Order Tracking, Logistics & Receiving

• Track every order from quotation through acknowledgment, production, shipment, delivery appointment, receipt, inspection, staging, installation, return, credit, and closeout.
• Coordinate deliveries to the warehouse, jobsite, installer, or client as approved; confirm access, liftgate, pallet, storage, protection, and receiving requirements.
• Direct onsite personnel through documented receiving inspections: count packages, verify labels/SKUs, photograph condition, match packing slips, identify concealed/visible damage, and record shortages within supplier claim windows.
• Own claims, replacements, returns, credits, and expedited recovery plans until fully resolved; prevent disputed or uncredited items from aging.
• Ensure materials are project-labeled, protected, consolidated, staged in installation sequence, and verified through the preflight process.

7. Production Planning & Installation Support

• Build procurement schedules backward from committed installation dates, including approval deadlines, lead times, shipping, inspection, replacement buffers, and trade sequencing.
• Partner with the Project Manager, Field Supervisor, Design Consultant, warehouse team, and lead installers to confirm scope, readiness, labor sequencing, and material handoffs.
• Provide installers with current drawings, order documents, specifications, packing lists, and known constraints; rapidly resolve field questions without authorizing unapproved scope or cost.
• Participate in project reviews and maintain written accountability for every procurement blocker, with issue, impact, recommendation, owner, due date, and next action.

8. Cost Control, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain ordered-project cost analysis by cost code and project; reconcile quotations, purchase orders, acknowledgments, invoices, freight, taxes, credits, returns, and approved changes.
• Escalate cost, quantity, scope, lead-time, or margin variances before release whenever possible and immediately when discovered afterward.
• Keep Buildertrend and procurement trackers accurate and audit-ready, with all approvals, order records, confirmations, correspondence, delivery evidence, inspection photos, claims, and credits attached to the correct project.
• Analyze reorder causes, supplier performance, shortages, damages, lead-time accuracy, rush freight, and installer downtime; improve checklists and standards so the same failure does not happen twice.

Required Qualifications

• With 3 to 5+ years of hands-on production, procurement, purchasing, or project-management experience specifically supporting U.S.-based residential kitchen and bathroom remodeling.
• 3 to 5+ years experience using 2020 Design software for kitchen and bathroom design - Expert level!
• Experience designing kitchen and bathroom remodel projects, including using AI tools like ChatGPT to create WOW renderings to help us close sales!
• Expert-level experience ordering new cabinetry, cabinet-refacing materials, and porcelain tile from U.S. manufacturers, dealers, distributors, or supplier networks.
• Demonstrated responsibility for material packages from takeoff and quotation through purchase order, acknowledgment, delivery, inspection, claims, credits, and installation support—not merely data entry or expediting.
• Ability to interpret U.S. architectural measurements, cabinet plans/elevations, 2020 Design or comparable drawings, appliance specifications, tile layouts, scopes of work, and field-verification documentation.
• Strong knowledge of cabinet construction, modifications, fillers/panels/moldings, accessories and hardware; refacing measurement and component requirements; and porcelain tile/set-material/wet-area product requirements.
• Documented experience with U.S. supplier price books, catalogs, portals, acknowledgments, lead times, freight, receiving, damage/shortage claims, returns, warranties, and credits.
• Strong Buildertrend or comparable U.S. construction project-management software experience and advanced spreadsheet skills, including formulas, filters, lookups, cost tracking, and variance reporting.
