Fabrication Manager
Role Overview
Responsible for end-to-end management of sheet metal fabrication operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production across punching, bending, stamping, welding, surface treatment, powder coating, and assembly. Leads the fabrication team, aligns engineering with manufacturing, and drives improvements in delivery, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
Oversee daily fabrication operations to meet production targets and delivery schedules (ETO & MTS).
Monitor performance (throughput, downtime, labor utilization) and resolve issues promptly.
Coordinate with planning and inventory teams to ensure smooth production flow.
Continuous Improvement
Lead Lean/Kaizen initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and shorten lead times.
Analyze processes and implement sustainable improvements and best practices.
Quality & Safety
Ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering specs, and safety regulations.
Drive corrective actions for defects and promote a strong safety culture.
People Leadership
Lead and develop production team members; set expectations and provide feedback.
Build capabilities and foster accountability and teamwork.
Resource & Cost Management
Optimize manpower, materials, and equipment utilization.
Control production costs and ensure material availability with planning teams.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (license preferred)
8+ years in manufacturing/fabrication; 5+ years in leadership
Hands-on experience in sheet metal processes (punching, bending, welding, powder coating)
Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of quality and safety standards
