Job Summary
The Product Specialist is responsible for supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of key product areas within the PalawanPay platform. The role works closely with the Lead Product Manager to define product requirements, monitor success metrics, and support execution from product discovery through launch and post-release optimization.
This position collaborates with Engineering, Design, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Business stakeholders to help build scalable, secure, and customer-centric fintech products, particularly in payments, remittance, and digital financial services.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Execution
- Support the Lead Product Manager in defining, prioritizing, and executing product roadmaps, backlogs, and delivery plans aligned with business objectives.
- Gather, document, and analyze business, operational, and regulatory requirements to support product enhancements and new feature development.
- Collaborate with the Business Analyst to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Partner closely with Engineering, QA, and Design teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered as intended.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives while maintaining backlog readiness.
Testing & Product Quality
- Support functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities to validate business requirements and expected outcomes.
- Work closely with QA and Engineering teams throughout the testing and release process.
Product Performance & Optimization
- Monitor product performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as product adoption, transaction success rates, operational issues, and customer drop-offs.
- Recommend data-driven improvements to enhance product performance and customer experience.
Product Launch & Stakeholder Management
- Support product launches by coordinating with Marketing, Operations, Customer Support, and Training teams.
- Prepare release notes, FAQs, internal documentation, and product communications.
- Help manage dependencies across internal teams, external vendors, payment networks, and service providers.
- Prepare and present product updates, status reports, and business insights to stakeholders.
Market & Regulatory Awareness
- Stay informed on fintech trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments to support product innovation and compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, Economics, or related fields.
- Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, or related roles within fintech, banking, payments, or technology-driven organizations.
- Proven experience in writing product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and conducting business or impact analysis.
Technical Competencies
- Experience working in cross-functional agile teams within fast-paced environments.
- Basic technical knowledge of APIs, system flows, and integration dependencies.
- Familiarity with digital financial products, including:
- Payments and payment networks
- Remittance services and digital wallets
- APIs and system integrations
- Understanding of information security principles, including data privacy, access controls, and secure transaction handling.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Security, Risk, and Compliance teams.
- Comfortable discussing accounting, finance, reconciliation, and settlement processes related to payments and remittance products.
- Ability to understand and communicate the impact of product changes on financial reporting, settlement cycles, and operational controls.
