Job Summary
The Product Specialist – Oncology is responsible for promoting and driving the sales of oncology products within assigned territories. This role requires strong scientific knowledge, the ability to engage healthcare professionals (HCPs), and a deep understanding of oncology treatment pathways. The Product Specialist serves as a key link between the organization and oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare stakeholders to ensure optimal product positioning and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets for oncology products.
- Develop and execute territory action plans and sales strategies.
- Identify new business opportunities within hospitals, cancer centers, and clinics.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
2. Product Promotion & Scientific Engagement
- Promote oncology portfolio to oncologists, hematologists, pharmacists, and other HCPs.
- Deliver high-quality, scientific product presentations and detailing.
- Effectively communicate clinical data, product benefits, and treatment value.
- Support product launches and lifecycle management initiatives.
3. Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals.
- Act as a trusted partner by providing accurate and up-to-date medical information.
- Collaborate with internal teams including medical, marketing, and regulatory.
4. Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Gather insights on market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitor activities.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions using CRM systems.
5. Compliance & Ethical Standards
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry codes of conduct.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions.
6. Training & Development
- Continuously update knowledge on oncology therapeutic areas, clinical studies, and treatment guidelines.
- Participate in internal training programs and scientific meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Biology, Medical Technology, Marketing, or related field.
- 1–3+ years experience as a Medical Representative / Product Specialist, preferably in Oncology
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and managing a territory.
- Strong scientific communication and objection handling skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office/365 and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Driver's license and willingness to travel within territory and for out-of-town meetings/events.
