Job Summary:
The Product Marketing Engineer is responsible for creating technical marketing content that clearly communicates product features, benefits, and applications. The role involves researching technical topics, developing marketing materials, working closely with engineering and sales teams, and supporting marketing activities such as trade shows, email campaigns, social media, and other promotional initiatives.
This role supports the company's product marketing efforts by ensuring technical information is communicated accurately and effectively while contributing to broader marketing initiatives that strengthen brand awareness and customer engagement.
Candidate Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline) or Science (preferably Chemistry or a related field).
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and engaging marketing content.
- Experience researching technical information using product datasheets, technical documents, industry resources, and scientific literature.
- Proficiency in graphic design and content creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Canva, and graphing software.
- Ability to work closely with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to develop content that supports business objectives.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles for website content (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of WordPress and HTML/CSS for updating website content (preferred).
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Content Development (60% of your time)
Create and refine technical marketing content to effectively communicate product features, benefits, and applications.
- Develop and maintain website content, including product pages, category pages, application pages, and blog articles
- Create supporting technical marketing materials such as product catalogs, product selector guides, presentations, and sales collateral
- Research product technologies, applications, and industry trends to produce accurate, customer-focused content
- Update product information, technical specifications, and supporting materials to ensure consistency across all marketing channels
- Work with engineering and sales teams to incorporate customer feedback and technical insights into content
Marketing Execution & Support (30% of your time)
Support day-to-day marketing execution to ensure materials are complete and delivered on time
- Support the preparation and finalization of content for publishing, including formatting, layout, and basic visual support
- Assist in publishing content across platforms
- Keep marketing assets (images, product data sheets, and documents) organized, up-to-date, and ready to use for content and publishing
- Support general marketing activities and ad hoc tasks as needed to ensure smooth execution
Subject Matter Expertise Development (10% of your time)
Build strong knowledge of products and technologies, to effectively support customer-facing sales engineers
- Research product technologies, applications, and market trends to support content development and product positioning
- Participate in internal product and application training to build technical knowledge
- Attend customer meetings or shadow sales and applications engineers to understand customer applications, technical requirements, and common challenges
- Complete relevant technical courses, certifications, or supplier training to maintain and expand product knowledge
