PayChoice is one of Australia's leading payment gateways, specialising in the collection of payments for clients around Australia in industries such as Healthcare/Fitness, Childcare, Medical and many more.

Job Description:

The Product Manager at PayChoice will be responsible to coordinate product delivery, maintain the product roadmap and ensure customer needs are translated into clear, actionable requirements.

You'll work closely with leadership, engineering, customers and external partners to keep projects on track, improve existing products and help shape what we build next.

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, communicates exceptionally well and can think critically, identify gaps and take ownership without constant direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape, prioritise and maintain the product roadmap, balancing customer needs, commercial priorities and technical constraints.
  • Track ongoing projects, milestones, dependencies, blockers and commitments, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility of progress.
  • Capture, analyse and consolidate feedback from customers, users and internal teams to identify problems and opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into clear product briefs, user stories, specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Review existing product interfaces and workflows, identify usability issues and recommend improvements.
  • Provide concise, accurate updates to leadership, customers, engineering teams and external partners.
  • Facilitate decisions, resolve ambiguity and ensure actions and responsibilities are clearly understood.
  • Use AI tools effectively to support research, analysis, requirements development and communication.

Requirements - Essential:

  • Experience in product management, product ownership or software delivery within a technology business.
  • Exemplary written and spoken English.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, including identifying inconsistencies, missing requirements and questionable assumptions.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Ability to turn loosely defined business problems into structured, actionable work.
  • Sound product judgement and an understanding of user experience.
  • Confidence working independently, challenging assumptions and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with modern collaboration and project management tools.

Requirements - Desirable:

  • Experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce or financial services.
  • Familiarity with payment processing, refunds, settlements, reconciliation and merchant operations.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms, APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Practical experience using AI tools for professional work.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Product delivery is visible, organised and predictable.
  • The roadmap reflects clear priorities and is kept up to date.
  • Customer feedback is captured, evaluated and acted upon.
  • Engineering receives clear, testable requirements.
  • Risks, blockers and inconsistencies are identified early.Stakeholders receive timely, accurate and concise communication.
  • Product usability and customer experience improve continuously.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • You're curious, pragmatic and comfortable working across business, product and technology.
  • You don't need to be a software engineer or a payments expert, but you should be able to understand complex workflows, ask intelligent questions and recognise when something doesn't add up.
  • You take ownership, communicate clearly and are equally comfortable discussing customer problems, reviewing product interfaces, challenging requirements and tracking delivery.
  • Above all, we value exceptional communication, critical thinking, sound judgement and the ability to get things done.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Paid time off.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborative and inclusive work culture.
