Job Description
About the company
Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed AI startup building a personal shopping agent that understands users preferences, helps them discover relevant products, and supports them in taking action. The team brings together AI agents, personalisation, and commerce to build a service that becomes more useful through ongoing interactions and real customer outcomes.
They are hiring in Singapore, with an opportunity for early team members to shape the product and its direction.
The opportunity
You will help define what a useful personal AI agent should do and how it should behave. That means understanding users needs, identifying the experiences worth building, and deciding when an agent should ask a question, make a recommendation, take action, or wait.
This is a hands-on product role for someone who enjoys customer discovery and early product development. You will work closely with engineering and research to turn customer insight into focused experiments and experiences people choose to return to.
What you'll do
- Conduct user interviews and observe real product use to understand needs, hesitation, and unmet expectations.
- Translate insights into clear user journeys, priorities, and product experiments.
- Define agent behaviours across memory, recommendations, tool use, and user control.
- Set success measures that capture usefulness, trust, and repeat use.
- Investigate unsuccessful experiences and identify whether the underlying issue is product design, agent behaviour, or execution.
- Make trade-offs with engineers and researchers across user value, technical capability, and delivery effort.
- Stay close to users after launch and use their experiences to guide subsequent decisions.
What you'll bring
- Experience shipping consumer products and improving them through customer insight.
- Strong product judgment, with examples of research or observation changing what you built.
- Working knowledge of AI agents, their limitations, and approaches to evaluating their behaviour.
- Comfort combining qualitative evidence with product data.
- The ability to prioritise under uncertainty and communicate decisions clearly.
- A practical, collaborative approach to working with technical teams.
Useful additional experience
- Consumer AI, e-commerce, recommendations, or personalisation.
- Early-stage product discovery and experimentation.
- Coding or prototyping agent experiences.
To apply
