The Payroll Product Manager is responsible for both the strategic and operational management of BPI's payroll product within the Transaction Banking Group, with a strong focus on innovation to keep the product competitive, client-focused, and aligned with regulatory standards. This role combines day-to-day management with a forward-looking approach, continuously seeking ways to enhance the payroll product's value, functionality, and relevance in the market. Working closely with other departments, the Payroll Product Manager leverages insights from client feedback, industry trends, and new technologies to drive improvements that deliver a superior payroll solution for B2B clients.
Responsibilities
- Understands customer segment requirements and competitor activities to ensure the payroll product meets current client needs and anticipates future demands
- Identifies gaps, strengths, and unique value propositions within the payroll product to refine positioning and introduce innovative features
- Analyzes market trends and emerging industry developments to propose product enhancements that maintain relevance
- Develops short- and long-term strategies in collaboration with the Payroll Product Head to enhance product value and drive growth
- Maintains up-to-date product documentation including guidelines, legal templates, and client-facing materials
- Coordinates with Compliance to secure necessary regulatory approvals and ensure alignment with BSP and internal policies
- Monitors client adoption rates and usage patterns, gathering feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Reviews and manages product costs to ensure efficient cost allocation and optimize expense management
- Utilizes client and internal feedback to drive product enhancements and improve client experience
- Collaborates with Marketing, Sales, and other units to develop promotional campaigns and bundling opportunities
- Approves product-related communications for both client-facing and internal audiences
- Leads training sessions and refresher courses for internal teams to strengthen product knowledge and promote innovations
- Works with internal units and third-party providers to proactively address service issues and enhance delivery
- Tracks project timelines and milestones, keeping stakeholders informed on progress and expected impacts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree/MBA is a plus
- 3–5 years of experience in product management, preferably within transaction banking or corporate payroll services
- Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and client engagement
- Proactive approach to process improvements and compliance management with BSP and internal policies
