Product Development Assistant

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Product Development Assistant to support a growing direct-to-consumer intimates apparel brand.
This role will support product development operations, timeline tracking, sample coordination, and cross-functional communication throughout the product lifecycle.
Reporting to: Chief Product and Innovation Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain product development calendars and milestone tracking across multiple product categories.
- Track development timelines, including prototypes, fit approvals, wear testing, color approvals, and production handoffs.
- Coordinate communication between internal teams and external vendors/factories to ensure timely follow-up and execution.
- Organize and monitor sample requests, arrivals, and status updates.
- Maintain approval trackers and ensure all approvals are properly documented and communicated.
- Support fit session preparation, including sample organization, note-taking, and recap distribution.
- Assist in maintaining product development documentation and seasonal tracking tools.
- Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, design, technical design, production, and planning teams.
- Identify potential risks or delays in development timelines and proactively escalate issues when necessary.
- Ensure accuracy and organization across all development-related files, systems, and processes.
- Provide ad hoc operational and administrative support to the product team.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in apparel product development, production coordination, merchandising, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, and project tracking tools.
- Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and follow-up abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within DTC eCommerce, fashion and apparel, or consumer products.
- Familiarity with tools such as Miro, Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
