As the Product Certification Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical resource supporting product certification and compliance activities across a diverse portfolio of products. You will collaborate with engineering teams, certification agencies, and regulatory organizations to help ensure products meet applicable global safety and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to influence product design, support testing and certification activities within an internationally accredited laboratory environment, and contribute to delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality solutions to customers worldwide.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead certification activities for new and existing products to support compliance and access to global markets.
- Coordinate certification projects with recognized testing agencies and certification organizations.
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical certification documentation, test reports, and compliance records.
- Interpret applicable standards and certification requirements and provide guidance to product development teams.
- Evaluate products against electrical safety, hazardous location, marine, and international regulatory requirements.
- Support certification programs, including UL, CSA, CE, ATEX, IECEx, ABS, DNV, and other relevant approvals.
- Maintain compliance of the organization's accredited testing laboratory through adherence to procedures, calibration requirements, audit readiness, quality systems, and accreditation standards.
- Conduct and support product safety testing in accordance with applicable international standards and certification requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to laboratory accreditation and product certification.
- Partner with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and product management teams to address certification and compliance requirements.
- Review test data and certification reports to verify compliance with applicable standards.
- Investigate certification and compliance issues, identify root causes, and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Monitor evolving global regulations, standards, and certification requirements to help maintain compliance.
- Support environmental compliance programs, including material declarations, supplier documentation reviews, technical file management, and regulatory reporting activities.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience supporting product certification, compliance testing, product safety engineering, or related safety engineering functions.
- Experience working with certification agencies such as UL, CSA, Intertek, TÜV, or similar organizations.
- Knowledge of certification and compliance requirements for products intended for global markets.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards in ordinary and hazardous locations, including standards related to product certification and regulatory compliance.
- Experience supporting or conducting product safety testing and collaborating with certification bodies or regulatory organizations.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, including schematic diagrams, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with common productivity tools and digital technologies.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management systems.
- Experience supporting accredited laboratory operations and associated compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
- Familiarity with Low Voltage Directive (LVD) testing and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience conducting product safety testing under UL/IEC 62368-1 standard
- Working knowledge of CE and UKCA marking requirements.
- Familiarity with power electronics products, switch mode power supplies, UPS systems, or related technologies.
