Job Summary

Product Category Specialist responsibilities include conducting market research and analyzing trends, handling product launches to internal and zee partners, gathering feedback, and offering recommendations of new products for development to the whole supply team.

To be successful as a product specialist, you must have a passion for the products you work with and keep expanding product knowledge. Outstanding product specialists should have a keen eye for spotting market trends, a willingness to inspire partners and customers, and the ability to work both independently and within a team

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Conceptualize new products and conduct research to assess product viability.

Develop business model, identify target market, product positioning, business strategy and business requirements of new products.

Handle the successful delivery of new products within defined objectives and timelines

Cascades marketing guidelines, program mechanics, brand strategies, product forecasts to internal and external partners.

Answering product-related concerns and queries via Help Desk addressing queries objectively and promptly.

Monitor performance of the new product after launch and calibrate product design or business strategy based on customer, sales and customer feedback.

Conducts feasibility studies on the market potential of proposed products for launching and presents recommendations on the viability of the project.

Prepares annual forecasts, coordinates with supply chains for requirements, and adjusts product forecasts accordingly based on offtake or movement.

Develops marketing plans for the product and product prototype (packaging, brand name, pricing and others).

Conceptualizes marketing programs to create demand and ensure product acceptance both from stores and consumers.

Helping identify marketing trends and key opportunities for innovation.

Analyzing questionnaires and other forms of feedback.

Coordinates with the supply team (R&D, MMD, Commissary) for product sourcing and product trials.

Job Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a graduate of marketing, business administration, advertising or relevant field
  • Have at least 3 years of similar working experience
  • Proven experience as marketing officer or similar role
  • Are highly motivated and self driven to deliver results
  • Exquisite communication and interpersonal skills
  • Up to speed with current and online marketing techniques and best practices
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Creativity and commercial awareness
  • A team player with a customer-oriented approach
