Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Product Engineering and Manufacturing Readiness

Translate approved product concepts into production-ready engineered solutions that meet design intent, structural integrity, manufacturability, quality, and cost objectives.

  • Engineer products from concept through production readiness.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability (DFM) and production feasibility.
  • Develop engineering specifications and construction details.
  • Resolve technical and manufacturing issues during product development.
  • Validate engineering changes prior to production release.
  • Support prototype evaluation and production trials.

CAD/CAM, Technical Documentation and Digital Product Library

Develop and maintain complete, accurate, and standardized engineering documentation that supports efficient manufacturing and future product scalability

  • Prepare 2D and 3D CAD models and production drawings.
  • Develop CNC-ready CAD/CAM files and machining documentation.
  • Maintain revision control for all engineering documents.
  • Build and maintain Philux's digital product library.
  • Ensure all technical documentation is complete before production release.
  • Maintain engineering standards for drawings and documentation.

CNC Programming and Manufacturing Engineering

Develop, optimize, and standardize CNC programs and manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and repeatability.

  • Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Improve machining strategies, tooling, and cycle times.
  • Support implementation of new CNC technologies and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot CNC programming and machining issues.
  • Develop machining standards and best practices.
  • Support Production in resolving technical manufacturing challenges.

Product Costing and Value Engineering

Ensure products are engineered to achieve target cost while maintaining quality, functionality, and design intent.

  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Prepare engineering inputs for product costing.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Recommend alternative materials and manufacturing methods.
  • Support sourcing decisions from an engineering perspective.
  • Improve product cost competitiveness.

Process Improvement and Digital Transformation

Drive continuous improvement through engineering innovation, AI-enabled workflows, and standardized digital processes.

  • Implement engineering process improvements.
  • Drive AI adoption within engineering and product documentation.
  • Develop standardized engineering templates and workflows.
  • Improve engineering data quality and accessibility.
  • Support ERP and digital manufacturing initiatives.
  • Promote continuous improvement across R&D and Manufacturing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Product Launch Support

Partner effectively with Design, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure timely and successful product launches.

  • Collaborate with Design to preserve product intent while improving manufacturability.
  • Work with Production to ensure smooth product introduction.
  • Support Purchasing on material and supplier technical evaluations.
  • Coordinate with QA on product quality standards.
  • Provide engineering support during pilot production.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) and post-launch reviews.
