Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises the procurement process within the property ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services at optimal costs while maintaining high standards of quality. He/she collaborates with various departments to understand their needs, identify suitable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance. Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify procurement needs and forecast demand.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, price, and delivery speed.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate smooth procurement processes.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly
  • Review purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchase orders, including specifications, quantities, and delivery dates.
  • Track the status of orders and expedite delivery as necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Monitor procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Analyze pricing trends and negotiate competitive prices with suppliers.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and documentation.
  • Supervise and mentor procurement staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the procurement team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize the procurement process.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments in procurement practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications.
  • Solid understanding of procurement regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge and understanding of international trade regulations and import/export procedures, a plus.
