About the Role
As a Procurement Specialist - Indirect Spend, you will drive procurement strategy across key indirect spend categories within a global healthcare solutions organization. Your work turns complex spend data into high-impact sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable savings, stronger supplier performance, and reduced commercial risk.
Partnering with cross-functional leaders, you will lead strategic sourcing events, negotiate commercial agreements, and shape category strategies that strengthen operational resilience. The Qualifications We Seek
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of strategic sourcing experience, preferably within indirect or professional services categories
- Demonstrated experience running RFI, RFQ, and RFP sourcing processes end to end
- Proven track record of leading negotiations and delivering measurable cost savings
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Advanced proficiency in MicrosoftExcel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Solid understanding of sourcing principles, contract fundamentals, and total cost of ownership concepts
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
Preferred
- CPSM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certification
- Experience supporting regulated environments such as medical devices, quality, or regulatory functions
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional senior leadership teams
Responsibilities
Analyze Spend & Develop Category Strategies
- Conduct spend analysis, supplier consolidation, and market benchmarking to identify cost-saving and risk mitigation opportunities; develop data-driven category strategies.
Lead End-to-End Sourcing Events (RFI, RFQ, RFP)
- Plan, scope, and execute sourcing initiatives; manage supplier communications, evaluate proposals, and recommend compliant, high-value supplier selections.
Drive Supplier Negotiations & Contracting
- Lead commercial negotiations, benchmark pricing and terms, and collaborate with Legal to finalize contracts and renewals.
Manage Stakeholders & Sourcing Projects
- Partner with cross-functional teams, align sourcing strategies with business goals, manage timelines, and communicate progress while resolving issues.
Strengthen Supplier Relationships & Performance
- Build strategic supplier partnerships, conduct performance reviews, resolve issues, and drive continuous value and performance improvement.
Track Savings & Report Performance
- Document and validate cost savings and avoidance with Finance; maintain trackers and deliver accurate monthly and quarterly reports.
Deliver Measurable Procurement Results (KPIs)
- Achieve cost savings targets, increase competitively sourced spend, ensure on-time project delivery, maintain stakeholder satisfaction, and reduce contractual risk.
Execute Early Impact Targets (90-120 Days)
- Deliver initial savings milestones ($5K-$25K+), validate results with Finance, and build a roadmap toward $100K annual savings.
Support Strategic Execution & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, adapt to changing priorities, identify risks and opportunities, and collaborate to drive business outcomes.
Foster Collaboration, Accountability & Growth
- Share knowledge, support team development, build strong relationships, and consistently deliver high-quality results aligned with organizational goals.
