Procurement Specialist

As a
Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for the timely delivery of quality products and services at optimum cost from the right sources . You will ensure that all purchasing transactions strictly conform to the company's policies and mandated standards, guaranteeing no equipment shutdowns caused by stock-outs or delayed deliveries .
You will work closely with
all internal departments, the Procurement Operations Supervisor, AEV Auditors, and external suppliers/contractors to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment .
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Procurement Execution & Bidding: Review and scrutinize purchase requests (PR) for completeness ; initiate competitive bidding with at least 3 accredited suppliers for items such as consumables, hardware, mechanical/electrical items, safety PPEs, and minor IT equipment/services .
- Commercial Negotiation & Analysis: Conduct strategic negotiations to secure optimal cost, best quality, and on-time delivery ; perform technical and commercial analysis for complex purchasing requirements .
- Contract & Inventory Management: Utilize min-max stock parameters to prevent negligence-driven stock-outs or overstocking ; prepare contracts/agreements for special purchases and oversee the processing of importation documents for indent items bought via online catalogs .
- Supplier & Operations Oversight: Assess and calibrate supplier ratings based on quality, cost, and after-sales performance ; provide leadership direction to procurement staff in the absence of the supervisor and assist in training team members on regulations and specialized software .

- Exhibits Above Average Communication Skills & Customer Service Orientation to promptly resolve user clarifications, address internal customer complaints, and collaborate with auditors and suppliers .
- Possesses an Above Average level of Resilience to navigate complex supply chains, settle delivery rejections efficiently, and manage tight lead times .
- Maintains strict Policy & Safety Alignment, ensuring all procurement steps practice self-audit and that health, environmental, and safety stipulations are explicitly integrated into purchase orders .
What You Will Need:Education & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or B.S. Accounting (for non-technical procurement tracks) .
- License: With or without a professional license .
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 4 years of direct Procurement experience .
- Leadership Experience: Having prior lead or supervisory experience is considered an advantage .
Technical / Functional Skills
- Proficiency in Computer Literacy (MS Office) and specialized procurement/inventory systems .
- Strong skills in Technical Knowledge regarding equipment, commodities, and service agreements .
- Familiarity with inventory replenishment models (e.g., Min-Max systems) and international importation/indent documentation .
