The role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Procurement Officer to support the sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management requirements of a growing telecommunications infrastructure business. This role plays a critical part in
ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary to support operational and project objectives.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, bid assessment, negotiations, purchase order processing, and contract administration.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial agreements to achieve cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal approval processes.
- Monitor purchase orders, inventory-related transactions, and procurement records to support operational requirements.
- Conduct supplier due diligence and support vendor risk assessments to ensure compliance with procurement standards and business requirements.
- Conduct market research to identify qualified suppliers, alternative sourcing opportunities, and market trends.
- Prepare procurement reports, supplier risk assessments, market and cost analyses, and recommendations for spend optimization and cost savings.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, engineering, and project teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while resolving delivery, quality, and procurement-related issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and supply chain performance.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or any related field.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in procurement, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
- Experience in telecommunications infrastructure procurement is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, tendering activities, supplier evaluation, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiations and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform cost analysis and assess procurement risks.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent are advantageous.
