Job Description

Duties And Responsibilities

Domestic & Import Purchases:

  • Supervises the process of sourcing and purchasing of goods essential for business operations.
  • Leads in Research on potential vendors and compares/evaluates offers from suppliers including Negotiation of Contract Terms of Agreement and Pricing.
  • Creates and maintains good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is of high quality and is delivered on time.
  • Oversees submission and receipt of pertinent Import Clearances (SPS & MAV).
  • Continuously coordinates with Suppliers and/or Courier Service Providers regarding Shipping Schedule and documentary requirements.
  • Ensures accuracy in order details entries (i.e. vendor name, quantities, prices) into internal databases ( Monitoring GSheet) including maintenance of updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
  • Certifies / ensures accuracy of submitted reports on purchases, including cost analyses & monitoring of stock levels.
  • Coordinates with Warehouse & Logistics Team to ascertain proper storage of purchased items.
  • Must know how to create a Purchasing plan and execute.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in any business-related course
  • At least 2 years of relevant supervisory experience in Local and Import Purchasing in Food or Logistics sector
  • Has adequate knowledge on estimating, planning, inventory management, cost and budgetary preparation, supervision and management, and best practices in purchasing
  • Knowledgeable in computer software applications including MS Office Suite/Google docs/sheets/ERP
  • Excellent organizational, planning, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Keen attention to details
  • Proficient oral and written English communication and presentation skills
