Job Description

As a Procurement Manager at Soprano Group, you will play a pivotal role in delivering best-in-class procurement services across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Trading and Procurement, you will lead the development and execution of global supplier strategies that support growth, innovation, and operational excellence.

In this role, you will manage and strengthen relationships with suppliers and carriers worldwide, ensuring a high-performing and reliable partner ecosystem. Drawing on your expertise in the SMS A2P industry, you will identify, evaluate, and onboard strategic suppliers who meet Soprano's quality and compliance standards.

You will operate with a high degree of ownership - managing both existing and new supplier partnerships, optimising performance, and driving value through data-led decision-making. As a trusted subject matter expert, you will also share insights and best practices across internal teams to uplift capability and support informed business decisions.

If you regularly take initiative, are driven to get things done, and enjoy the variety of working on multiple global projects, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Manage end‑to‑end procurement activities for MT, HLR, and related services, ensuring targets are achieved within required timelines.
  • Maintain collaborative and productive supplier partnerships, acting as primary contact and fostering strong relationships by proactively addressing performance issues and facilitating timely resolutions.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate competitive offers, and stay informed on industry and regional market trends.
  • Optimize procurement performance by:
  • Leveraging data insights to drive cost improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Analyzing and summarizing procurement data, trends, and supplier performance.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert and sharing industry knowledge with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective Supplier Performance Management, including monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on supplier KPIs and compliance, and ensuring compliance with internal procurement policies.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and managers to build a comprehensive view of supplier performance and support strategic decision‑making.
  • Develop, implement, and track key performance metrics for strategic suppliers to ensure alignment with company standards and objectives.
  • Support contract negotiations, ensuring favourable commercial terms and adherence to company policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake any other ad‑hoc assignments as required

Skills & Experience You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of procurement experience, preferably within the A2P SMS, telecommunications, or technology services industry.
  • Strong analytical and numerical capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data, evaluate supplier performance, and support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is an added advantage
  • Proactive and results‑driven, with a strong focus on delivering business value and improving procurement processes.
  • Independent and self‑directed, able to manage priorities, solve problems, and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional research and market‑analysis skills, with the ability to track, interpret, and forecast industry trends.
  • Strong business acumen, with a solid understanding of diverse business practices and familiarity with the telecommunications or messaging ecosystem.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate clearly with both internal and external partners.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, and local regulatory requirements.
