The role
This position requires
expert commercial relationship management and negotiation skills specifically for
industrial indirect sourcing. The core focus is to
drive cost savings, enhance supplier performance, and create value by developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies. A strong grasp of
indirect procurement categoriesincluding MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), PPE, tools, consumables, and facility servicesis essential, complemented by outstanding negotiation and analytical capabilities.
Your Responsibilities
- Execute sourcing strategies developed by the Category Management team to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage supplier relationships to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance standards.
- Lead negotiations and contract development for initiatives, each ranging up to $1M USD, with favorable terms and risk mitigation.
- Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities, demand trends, and supplier consolidation options.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations and engineering to understand requirements and deliver procurement solutions.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supply chain risks to inform sourcing decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, systems, and reporting tools.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Masters or Supply Chain certification preferred).
- 5+ years of procurement experience, with demonstrated proficiencies for commercial negotiations with industrial indirect materials.
- Prior indirect sourcing experience in a global or multi-national industrial manufacturing firm.
- Demonstrated commercial relationship management and supplier development skills
- Proven track record of delivering commercial value through negotiated sourcing and supplier management, including conducting RFPs.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, SAC, Ariba, etc.) including PO creation (P2P), release and updating pricing info records and relevant data analysis and proficiency tools, i.e. Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organization.
