Job Description

Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Executive to join our Technical Services and Procurement team in Manila. This dual-function role sits at the heart of our fleet operations — ensuring that our vessels remain seaworthy, commercially ready, and well-supplied at all times. From coordinating class and flag compliance to managing the end-to-end procurement of stores, spares, and provisions, this position plays a vital part in keeping our fleet running safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance. If you have a sharp eye for detail, a head for numbers, and a genuine interest in the shipping industry, this could be the right next step for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate class and flag compliance activities — including surveys, inspections, and certificate monitoring — to ensure vessels maintain seaworthiness and commercial readiness at all times.
  • Prepare draft specifications for vessel modifications and alterations required to meet Class and Statutory requirements.
  • Support sale and purchase (S&P) activities, including flag changes, ownership transfers, vessel handovers, and new building coordination.
  • Manage offland items for repair and service, from sourcing and contractor approval through to work completion, JIBE system updates, and payment closure.
  • Assist Superintendents in dry-docking activities, including planning, specification compilation, yard and contractor quote review, progress monitoring, and full documentation closure.
  • Issue and manage Purchase Orders, ensuring timely delivery of stores, spares, provisions, and bonded stores to vessels at the right cost and specification.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contract prices and year-end rebates, and ensure competitive pricing through thorough comparison and evaluation.
  • Coordinate delivery logistics in collaboration with Operations and Fleet Personnel teams, monitoring spare parts readiness and planning vessel deliveries efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation — including Supply Logs, Vessel Expense Reports, and JIBE system entries — in compliance with audit and reporting requirements.
  • Administer and uphold ISO procedures and Company policies across all technical and purchasing processes.

Requirements

  • Degree holder in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 2 years of procurement experience within an established ship management company.
  • Solid knowledge of technical, purchasing, and logistics processes in a maritime or shipping context.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with good analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and email.
  • Good communication skills in both spoken and written English.
