Process Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a qualified Process Engineer to support the commissioning of a large-scale wastewater treatment facility project in Metro Manila. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that treatment processes, equipment, and systems are properly tested, commissioned, and operating in accordance with approved engineering designs, project specifications, and applicable environmental standards.

The role will involve coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to verify system readiness, monitor process performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and support the successful start-up and commissioning of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret process engineering drawings, technical specifications, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in preparation for commissioning activities.
• Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities of wastewater treatment systems.
• Verify the readiness and proper installation of process equipment, piping systems, instrumentation, and related components prior to commissioning.
• Conduct and monitor process testing to ensure that systems perform according to approved design parameters and project specifications.
• Monitor key process parameters, including flow rates, pressure, chemical dosing, and water quality, during testing and start-up.
• Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot process-related issues encountered during commissioning, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure proper integration and functionality of treatment systems.
• Assist in reviewing commissioning procedures, method statements, test reports, and other technical documentation.
• Support performance testing and process optimization to verify that the facility meets its required operational and treatment standards.
• Prepare commissioning reports, technical documentation, and progress updates.
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, safety, and project quality requirements throughout commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in wastewater treatment, sewage treatment plants (STP), water treatment facilities (WTP), or similar infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, system start-up, or performance testing of water/wastewater treatment systems is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and treatment plant equipment.
• Familiarity with process testing, troubleshooting, process parameters, and equipment performance evaluation.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and review technical documentation.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Caloocan City.

• Project Duration: Approximately 2 years
• Contractual Arrangement: Initial 1-year contract, subject to renewal
