Job Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for magnetics and cable products to ensure high quality, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. The role focuses on improving process capability, yield, and reliability across key manufacturing operations while supporting new product introductions and resolving production issues. Working crossfunctionally, the Process Engineer applies lean manufacturing, data analysis, and engineering best practices to reduce waste, improve cycle time, enhance OEE, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This position will report to the Process Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for magnetics and cable products.
- Establish and maintain process documentation such as work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, and PCN/ECO.
- Support new product and process introductions, including process qualification, tooling validation, and pilot builds.
- Monitor process performance using SPC and data analytics; identify root causes of defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Drive cost reduction, yield improvement, and productivity initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, and automation where applicable.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to production teams to ensure robust and repeatable processes.
- Lead or participate in crossfunctional problemsolving teams and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Specialization or demonstrated experience in manufacturing processes, materials science, automation and control systems, or reliability engineering is an advantage.
- Proficient in equipment setup, calibration, and capability validation; experienced with PLCcontrolled machines and HMI interfaces, sensors, actuators, motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Strong knowledge of tooling and fixtures, including changeover optimization.
- Solid foundation in manufacturing principles and data analysis, including:
- Structured root cause analysis (8D, 5Why, Fishbone)
- Datadriven decisionmaking tools (SPC, Cp/Cpk, trend analysis)
- Failure mode and risk analysis (PFMEA, risk mitigation)
- Experimental and analytical approaches (DOE, parameter optimization)
- High level of safety and risk awareness, with working knowledge of machine safety principles (LOTO, guarding, interlocks), ergonomic risk reduction, and safe handling of chemicals such as resins, varnishes, and insulation materials.
