Principal, Technical Project Management

What you'll be doing:
The Position of IT - PMO Project Manager is a project role within the IT PMO - Delivery Team. This position is critical to the success of the IT PMO - Delivery Team, and has a solid career path into senior project leadership roles within the IT PMO. This position manages the initiation, planning, execution (including managing and controlling), and closing of small to large projects within the IT PMO Managed Project Portfolio, following the defined IT PMO Project Delivery Lifecycle.
Project Delivery
- Accountable for Quality Delivery
- Manage the Project Scope
- Create and manage a detailed Project Schedule
- Manage the Project Budget (Future State)
- Drive Project Activities
- Communicate Risks and Manage Issue Resolution
- Follows the defined Project Delivery Process (PDLC)
Project Leadership
- Define Team Interactions
- Set Expectations for All Stakeholders
- Manage / Resolve Conflict and Uncertainty
- Collaborate with Project Delivery Partners
- Maintain a neutral presence within the project team
Voice of the Project
- Primary source for Project Information
- Partner for the Business Owner / Sponsors
- Coordinate all communication for Project Team
- Engaged with all Project Stakeholders / Sponsors
- Responsible for regular Project Status Updates
- Facilitates the capturing and prioritization of project requirements
- Leads, plans, schedules, tracks, and manages project deliverables, goals, and milestones adjusts project plans and/or resources to meet changing needs and requirements
- Assesses risks and creates strategies for risk mitigation and project contingency planning
- Designs and maintains project documentation
- Identifies and resolves project issues ensures appropriate communication to project stakeholders
- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate
- Manages project scope and the change control process as appropriate
- Develops project plans and team assignments
- Directs and monitors daily work of teams including progress toward goals
- Identifies resource needs and secures as needed
- Provides day-to-day direction and oversight over project engineering teams
- Monitors, reviews, and/or appropriately escalates functional, quality, and timeline issues
- Develops and executes procurement management plan in association with Procurement and the vendor management plan
- Ensures project plans and all project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored
- Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations
- Assists customers remotely over the phone using remote control software or in person
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:
- Holds/attends team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
- Knows, understands, and follows teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
What you'll bring to us:
- 7+ years of Project Management Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years experience managing IT projects / programs
- Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions required
- Demonstrated experience in resource management and change management techniques preferred
- Project Management Institute - Project Management Professional Certification (PMI-PMP) is a plus.
- Proven experience in a project management position, using standard SDLC/PDLC practices
- Demonstrated ability to transfer skills and knowledge to a high performing team
- Ability to integrate and align strategy across functions, processes and teams
- Proven ability to implement improved business processes working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with tangible results
What skills you'll need:
- Implementation, technical design, and process improvement project experience
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and enterprise relationship building experience
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize personal tasks and activities and those of project team members as necessary
- Demonstrated strengths in organization, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills along with attention to detail
- Expert computer skills and proficiency in MS Project required proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook required
