Position Summary
The Principal will lead the establishment and operations of the Swiss Care Foundation School of Hospitality, a purpose-driven institution designed to provide world-class hospitality education to underserved and less privileged individuals.
Inspired by the standards of EHL Hospitality Business School, the Principal will be responsible for building the school from the ground up, developing industry-relevant curricula, ensuring regulatory compliance, shaping scholar selection processes, and overseeing the design and implementation of facilities aligned with TESDA, DSWD requirements.
This role requires a strategic, mission-driven leader who combines academic excellence, operational expertise, and a deep commitment to social impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & School Development :
- Lead the conceptualization, establishment, and operationalization of the hospitality school
- Define the school's vision, academic framework, and long-term strategy aligned with Swiss Care Foundation's mission
- Ensure programs reflect global hospitality standards while remaining accessible and practical for scholars
2. Academic Program Development :
- Design and implement hospitality-focused courses (e.g., culinary, bakery, service, housekeeping, barista, front office)
- Align curriculum with industry standards and employability outcomes
- Integrate values formation, discipline, and service excellence into all programs
- Benchmark against leading institutions such as EHL Hospitality Business School
3. Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation :
- Ensure full compliance with:
- TESDA (if applicable for technical programs)
- DSWD
- Lead accreditation processes, permits, and continuous compliance requirements
- Establish academic policies aligned with Philippine education standards
4. Scholar Selection & Development :
- Design a fair, transparent, and impact-driven scholar selection process
- Define eligibility criteria prioritizing underserved communities
- Establish assessment tools (aptitude, attitude, commitment to service)
- Oversee scholar development, discipline, and holistic formation
5. Facilities Planning & Development :
- Define and oversee development of required facilities, including:
- Training kitchens and bakeries
- Mock hotel rooms / housekeeping labs
- Dining and service training areas
- Classrooms and learning spaces
- Ensure facilities meet DepEd/CHED/ TESDA/DSWD standards and industry specifications
- Work closely with architects and engineers to align design with operational needs
6. Industry Linkages & Partnerships :
- Establish partnerships with:
- Hotels, restaurants, and hospitality groups
- Training institutions and international partners
- Develop internship and employment pathways for graduates
- Align programs with real-world industry demands
7. Operational Management :
- Oversee day-to-day school operations
- Recruit and lead faculty and administrative staff
- Establish performance standards and evaluation systems
- Manage budgets and resource allocation efficiently
8. Social Impact & Mission Alignment :
- Ensure all programs reflect the Foundation's commitment to uplifting lives through education
- Promote a culture of dignity, discipline, and service
- Measure and report impact (employment rates, scholar success stories, community reach)
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Education, Business, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 8–10 years leadership experience in hospitality education or operations
- Strong knowledge of DepEd, CHED, and/or TESDA requirements
- Experience in curriculum development and school setup is highly preferred
- Background in international or high-standard hospitality institutions (e.g., EHL, Les Roches, etc.) is an advantage
- Demonstrated commitment to social impact, education, or community development
