Principal Scrum Master

Purpose of the role

At Navitaire, the Principal Scrum Master is accountable for accelerating the flow of value delivery at the Agile team level by embracing and promoting the Lean-Agile values and principles. Facilitates the team and scaled agile ceremonies and is the guardian of the Scrum/Kanban artifacts; communicates with stakeholders, mentors less experienced colleagues, escalates impediments, helps manage risks, and strives to improve this all in a robust way, restlessly.

In This Role You'll

  • Coach team leaders and team members in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Responsible for implementing Agile (Scrum, Kanban) best practices by federating & coaching stakeholders on adopting Agile mindset
  • Facilitate Agile events and stakeholder collaboration, as well as sync meetings as required.
  • Foster an environment of mutual influence, encourage personal development, and support the commitment made by the Agile team.
  • Support team members with problem identification and decision-making
  • Identify and implement techniques to improve team effectiveness utilizing an empirical approach
  • Manage risk and dependencies and cause the removal of impediments
  • Summarize Team goals and communicate to team members and stakeholders for visibility and transparency
  • Collaborate and coach Product Owners and other stakeholders and help create and maintain a value-focused team backlog
  • Collaborate with Product Management and portfolio leads to create long-term delivery plans and forecasts
  • Collaborate with Agile coaches and contribute to org-level Agile transformation
  • Coach teams to improve predictability and transparency
  • Coach individuals and teams to optimize their flow of value
  • Coach individuals and teams to monitor metrics and analytics using real-time data and dashboards

About The Ideal Candidate

  • BA or BS or equivalent experience is required. Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with software development methodologies and agile development
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a ScrumMaster, Product Owner, RTE, or Agile Coach
  • Experience working with multiple Agile teams working from a single product backlog in a scaled environment
  • Proficient in technical knowledge to support and provide highly credible leadership to various cross-functional Agile teams
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly complex environment with critical business importance and collaborate with stakeholders to drive process improvements at both team and portfolio levels.
  • Proficient with tools such as Github, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), Jira, Rally, VersionOne, etc
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Confluence, etc
  • Experience querying data and building reports using PowerBI
  • Airline or travel industry experience is helpful
  • Certifications from Scrum.org, PMI, SAFe, Scrum Alliance, LeSS, or similar
  • Expert understanding of project management principles and vendor management
  • Experience overseeing multiple cross-functional teams with at least 5-7 team members each
  • Strong technical knowledge of cloud computing
  • Open to work in a hybrid set-up.
