Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and execution of complex electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale mechanical engineering projects.

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to innovative solutions that drive project success and operational excellence.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (Key Responsibilities and Tasks)

  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept through construction, ensuring quality, technical excellence, and timely completion.
  • Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Review and approve mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Chair technical meetings, interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, and provide strategic engineering recommendations.
  • Oversee project resources, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
  • Drive coordination across global and local teams to ensure seamless project execution and knowledge sharing.
  • Support business development initiatives through technical input, proposal preparation, and client relationship management.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant international codes, standards, and best practices, particularly for mission-critical and data centre facilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Building Services Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional accreditation is an advantage.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical MEP design and consultancy, with significant exposure to data centre or other mission-critical facilities.
  • Strong proficiency in engineering software such as HAP, Pipe Flo, Navisworks, BIM 360, and other BIM-related platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing complex engineering projects from design to delivery.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC, chilled water systems, ventilation, fire protection, and other mechanical building services systems.
  • Proven ability to conduct design reviews, technical audits, and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including project budgeting, resource planning, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, consultants, and global teams.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers while fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
