Job Description

Microchip Technology is seeking an experienced Principal Test Engineering lead to lead the Sustaining and Enhancement Test Engineering team.

This is a hands-on working leadership role. The successful candidate manages a team of Test Engineers while remaining personally active in day-to-day test engineering work across analog, power, and mixed-signal semiconductor products.

The ideal candidate brings strong test engineering fundamentals and platform-agnostic depth across ATE environments, with the ability to ramp quickly on new systems, combined with the leadership skills to guide and develop a high-performing team

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

• Manage, mentor, and develop Test Engineers at PTC Philippines

• Set team objectives aligned with Business Unit goals and team KPIs

• Coordinate workload distribution and resource planning across sustaining projects

• Identify training needs and drive skill development across the team

• Stay engaged in technical work to maintain credibility and support team delivery

Hands-On Test Engineering: Sustaining & Enhancement

• Perform and lead sustaining activities including test program maintenance, debug, and optimization across multiple ATE platforms

• Drive test program enhancements to improve yield, throughput, test coverage, and test time

• Review and approve engineering changes impacting test flows and programs

• Participate directly in resolving test escapes, production failures, and quality issues — including floor-level debug when needed

• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions with Product Engineering and Quality teams

• Lead or co-lead enhancement projects to expand test coverage, reduce escapes, or improve test economics

• Serve as the primary test engineering liaison; coordinate with Test Operations, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams

• Champion test engineering best practices, standardized workflows, and task automation initiatives across the team

• Track and report key metrics: test yield, test escapes, cycle time, and project status

• Apply advanced statistical analysis (MSA, GRR, ANOVA) to drive data-informed decisions on yield and quality improvement
