Your impact
As part of our Global Delivery Center (GDC), you'll be at the heart of delivering high-impact energy and power projects across the globe. We're seeking a
Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design of large-scale transmission connected simple cycle or combined cycle power plants to support our power generation practice. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside design team members in the United States to produce detailed design documents and perform construction phase engineering services.
Responsibilities include
- Serve as a recognized technical authority for electrical engineering across large‑scale, transmission‑connected simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects globally.
- Provide strategic leadership and governance of electrical design standards, philosophies, and best practices in support of the Power Generation practice.
- Set and approve electrical design criteria, protection philosophies, and engineering approaches to ensure alignment with client requirements, regulatory standards, and lifecycle performance objectives.
- Lead the development, review, and final approval of critical electrical system deliverables, including single‑line diagrams (SLDs), protection schemes, wiring and schematic diagrams, and detailed design packages.
- Establish technical direction and approve specifications for major electrical equipment such as substations, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motors.
- Oversee and guide the production of complex installation and layout drawings, ensuring constructability, operational reliability, and safety are embedded into designs.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues, engineering deviations, and risk resolution across projects.
- Provide senior-level engineering support during procurement and construction, including vendor technical evaluations, contractor engagement, RFI resolution, and field issue adjudication.
- Lead quality assurance frameworks for the electrical discipline, ensuring consistent compliance with internal standards, industry codes, and client specifications.
- Review, endorse, and take ultimate accountability for all electrical deliverables within assigned programs or portfolios.
- Influence project execution strategies and staffing models by aligning technical needs with schedules, resources, and business priorities.
- Mentor and develop senior and junior engineers, shaping technical capability, succession planning, and long-term discipline growth.
- Partner with regional and global leadership to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and standardization within the Global Delivery Center (GDC).
