Role Overview
The Pre-Sales Engineer plays a critical role in the sales process by translating client needs into tailored technical solutions. This role is primarily responsible for:
- Gathering detailed client requirements through structured discovery and technical discussions
- Delivering impacIul product demo that is aligned to client use cases and business goals
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Solution Design
- Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects and existing clients to understand business challenges, workflows, and success criteria
- Conduct structured requirements gathering meetings and/or workshops (functional and technical)
- Document and validate business and system requirements
- Translate client requirements into tailored solution proposals and architectures
- Identify gaps, integration needs, and customization requirements
- Collaborate with Engineering and Delivery teams to assess feasibility and define solution scope
2. Customized Product Demo
- Design and deliver compelling, client-specific product demos aligned with identified requirements
- Handle technical objections and questions confidently during presentations
- Continuously refine demo strategies based on market feedback and evolving product capabilities
3. Sales Enablement & Deal Support
- Partner closely with Business Development Manager and/or Account Managers throughout the sales cycle
- Provide technical input for proposals, RFPs/RFIs, and solution documentation
- Support pricing discussions from a technical scoping perspective
- If necessary, participate in client meetings, presentations, and executive briefings
- Assist in proof-of-concept (POC) deployments when required
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the technical liaison between Client Engagement, Delivery, and Engineering
- Collaborate with Engineering and Hardware teams to configure demo environments
- Provide feedback from the field to improve product features and positioning
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, demo playbooks, and sales enablement materials
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2–5+ years of experience in Pre-Sales, Sales Engineering, Business Development, Business Analysis, or a similar client-facing technical role
- Proven experience conducting structured requirements gathering sessions
- Demonstrated experience delivering software product demo to business and technical audiences
- Strong understanding of enterprise software solutions, SaaS, and system integrations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value
Bonus Skills / Qualifications
- Understanding of system architecture, APIs, databases, and integration frameworks
- Experience with tools such as Google suite, Canva, ERP solutions, API integrations, and cloud platforms
