An IT Presales Engineer acts as the technical bridge between sales teams and clients, designing technical solutions, conducting product demonstrations, and creating proposals to solve client business challenges. They support sales goals by providing technical expertise, developing Proof of Concepts (POCs), and delivering technical presentations to win new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical SalesSupport: Collaborating with sales managersto analyze customerneeds and provide expert technical advice.
- Demonstrations & Presentations: Conducting tailored product demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept (POC) sessions to showcase value.
- Solution Design & Proposals: Developing customized technical architectures, high-level/low-level designs(HLD/LLD), and creatingBills of Materials(BOMs).
- RFP/RFQ Response: Preparing technicaldocumentation, responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and tenders.
- Customer Advocacy: Acting as a trustedadvisor, translating complextechnical concepts into clear business benefits for clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in ComputerScience, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, security, cloud solutions, or software, depending on the focus.
- Communication Skills:Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Abilityto evaluate technicalissues and devise effective solutions.
- Must be knowledgeable in Red Hat Technologies, esp. Containers and Automations.
- Must be knowledgeable in Gitlab
