Working with design agencies or clients to understand the brief, brand guidelines, and technical constraints for the project/design range.
Having the ability to interpret concept and/or brand guidelines through to artwork execution
Being able to challenge the brief and provide technical advice and suggestions back to the client
Have conversations with the printer, providing and receiving technical advice regarding the artwork/project
Ensure that all work is completed to client's guidelines and the standards outlined in the process and procedures
Ensure artwork interpretation is achievable within print production constraints (maximum colours, minimum dot, TAC limit, etc.)
Must be able to build art to meet various regulatory requirements
Ability to work with artwork projects that contain multiple components and ensure consistency is maintained throughout
Prepare accurate artworks from the approved design and brief
Ensure client guidelines are followed
Roll out artwork across complicated multilingual packs from translation documents
Responsibility for ensuring line and traffic managers are kept informed of the progress of jobs, and any impact that there is to the production plan or deadlines
To ensure all quality control procedures are adhered to and all relevant documents are completed
Ability to repro artwork, apply grips and holdbacks according to the printer's specifications
Take the lead with artwork projects that contain multiple components, and ensure consistency is maintained throughout
Provide input into the development of the artwork process based on client needs
Develop and update master artworks and guideline documentation
Ability to train and mentor new or junior staff, and provide training to less experienced team members
