Business Intelligence Analyst / Developer
Our client is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst / Developer to join an agile team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering business intelligence solutions that support data-driven decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements, develop dashboards and reports, and transform complex data into meaningful insights. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple global locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Business Intelligence dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements, translating them into effective reporting and visualization solutions.
- Develop a strong understanding of business processes, data structures, and data usage to provide valuable insights.
- Build data models and perform data transformation to support reporting and analytics requirements.
- Create reporting solutions ranging from simple operational reports to complex interactive dashboards.
- Identify opportunities to improve data collection, data models, and metadata for future enhancements.
- Develop high-quality SQL code for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to ensure reports and dashboards meet business requirements.
- Create and execute test plans to validate data accuracy and report functionality.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot reporting and data-related issues.
- Follow established development standards, best practices, and governance policies.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query, and DAX.
- Experience with other BI platforms such as Tableau, Dundas BI, Spotfire, PowerPivot, or SSRS is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data transformation, and data visualization.
- Experience creating automated business reports and dashboards using SQL-based data sources.
- Hands-on experience with Data Warehouse technologies, including SSIS, SQL, ETL processes, and OLAP.
- Advanced SQL development skills, including creating and maintaining complex stored procedures, views, and database queries.
- Experience with database migration and data integration.
- Exposure to enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, or HRIS is a plus.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices for database and report development.
- Ability to document technical requirements and translate business needs into reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to create presentation-ready dashboards, reports, charts, and visualizations within tight deadlines.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across business and technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a global environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and take ownership of complex projects.
