Power BI & Data Analytics QA Analyst
Position Summary
The Power BI & Data Analytics QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of enterprise data solutions, including Power BI reports, dashboards, and underlying data pipelines. This role partners with data engineers, report developers, and business stakeholders to validate data integrity, enforce quality standards, and support delivery of high-quality analytics products.
Key Responsibilities:
Data & Report Validation
. Validate Power BI dashboards and reports against business requirements and source systems
. Perform data reconciliation between source systems (e.g., Snowflake, SQL) and reporting layers
. Ensure accuracy of KPIs, calculations, measures (DAX), and aggregations
QA Testing & Execution
. Develop and execute test cases, test plans, and regression testing for data solutions
. Perform functional, system, integration, and UAT support for analytics products
. Identify, log, and track defects through resolution using tools such as Azure DevOps
Data Quality Assurance
. Analyze data pipelines and transformations for completeness, consistency, and accuracy
. Validate ETL/ELT processes and business rules
. Monitor data anomalies and trends and escalate issues proactively
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
. Work closely with business users to understand reporting requirements and expected outputs
. Partner with developers and data engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
. Support production deployments and post-release validation
Documentation & Process Improvement
. Maintain QA documentation including test scenarios, data validation rules, and defect logs
. Contribute to QA best practices, standards, and automation initiatives
. Recommend process improvements to enhance data quality and testing efficiency
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
. Strong experience with Power BI (reports, dashboards, data models)
. Proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis
. Experience with data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server)
. Knowledge of DAX and data modeling concepts (Good to have)
. Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines (Good to have)
. Experience with QA tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, test management tools)
Analytical & QA Skills:
. Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities
. Experience creating and executing test cases and test plans
. Ability to perform data reconciliation and root cause analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
. Experience in insurance or financial services domain (nice to have)
. Familiarity with data governance and data quality tools
