Job Description

Lead the final mile of lending-drive accuracy, speed, and investor confidence.

As a Post Closing Investor Team Lead, you will oversee daily operations, manage escalations, and ensure timely resolution of investor conditions. You'll guide a team of post closers, monitor pipelines, and maintain compliance to support accurate and efficient loan processing.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring loan quality, investor satisfaction, and operational efficiency across global mortgage processes. You'll lead process improvements, develop talent, and grow your global career with Emapta-delivering a top 1% experience designed for top 1% talent.

The Qualifications We Seek

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years experience in a Post Closing role.
  • 2+ years experience in a Team Lead or Senior Post Closing role.
  • Experience working in Encompass, preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory rules and regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of agency and investor guidelines and overlays.
  • Experience working with various loan programs and addressing investor conditions and exceptions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with internal employees and external vendors.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to determine solutions and identify alternative resolutions within acceptable guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Skilled at prioritizing to complete multiple tasks within established deadlines.
  • Skilled at making decisions independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Manage the day-to-day tasks of the Post Closing Team.
  • Serve as the first level escalation point for the Post Closing Team for general questions, additional file reviews, and assist with loan level decisions.
  • Review and balance the team's loan assignments and task load.
  • Provide employee development and performance coaching in one-on-one meetings.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new hires and existing employees to be upskilled on a variety of topics as needed.
  • Monitor team performance metrics and report to management on documentation accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within the Post Closing Team.
  • Review production and processes to identify trends that will be relayed to the Investor Suspense Manager.
  • Pull daily investor reporting to identify loans that have been suspended for purchase and load balance files as needed within the team.
  • Assist with the Post Closing Team tasks and responsibilities, as necessary.
  • Assist the Investor Suspense Manager with QC reporting.
  • Review and obtain clarification from investors when needed to determine what is acceptable to cure applicable defects.
  • Monitor daily condition reports from the investor for updates on suspended loans or new conditions as received.
  • Monitor time of loans on the warehouse lines and advise Investor Suspense Manager of those at potential risk for curtailment from the warehouse.
  • Monitor a pipeline to ensure all loans shipped are either conditioned or purchased in a timely manner.
  • Provide updates on the status of assigned loans with investors to the Post Closing Management Team.
  • Ensure investor guidelines are followed and avoid incurring suspense fees.
  • Review and approve team check requests as applicable.
  • Ensure Post Closing Team meets set monthly purchased loan goals.
