Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years underwriting experience in retail mortgage lending
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of HUD, FNMA, FHLMC, VA guidelines and compliance laws
- Experience in mortgage quality control preferred
- Ability to create reports using Excel or Access
- Strong understanding of loan processes and procedures
- Experience using Encompass preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Responsibilities
- Perform reviews of assigned samples of decisioned loan files that have been decided by our client's Underwriters, ensuring the loan file is in compliance with all agency loan guidelines, regulatory requirements, internal Company policies and procedures, meets Agency quality control requirements, and the review was conducted in accordance with our client's QC Plan.
- Prepare reports of audit results, containing feedback of each loan review at time of completion and provide it to the applicable Underwriter within stated service levels.
- Attend relevant loan underwriting, credit analysis, or loan program industry training.
- Prepare a report of monthly findings.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the requirements for HMDA, NMLS, and ECOA to assist in preparation and maintenance of the loan application register (LAR).
- Assist in conducting Fair Lending disparity reviews as needed or required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
