About the Role
As a Portfolio Reviewer, you will be you will be responsible for reviewing the wholesale credit portfolio of the Bank to determine credit quality and credit process quality, and to support the Bank's credit risk-taking activities on the wholesale side by providing the business and credit decision-makers with information on the strengths and weaknesses of the Bank's existing portfolio.
How you'll contribute
- Gathers, interprets, and analyzes complex financial, market, and credit information to judge the quality of individual and portfolio credit exposures.
- Analyzes credit processes on sample accounts to assess the credit process quality of the business unit, Relationship Managers, and credit support units.
- Re-rates individual credits using the Bank's underwriting standards and ECL model to determine the status or migration of an account's credit quality.
- Identifies and assesses critical risks, including concentrations, and opportunities; recommends policy and process changes and conducts portfolio stress testing for risk management and business strategy.
- Presents credit audit results through the Business Risk Review exercise to provide stakeholders with a view of the Bank's credit risk-taking activities.
- Supervises a team in executing the ROC-approved credit audit plan to deliver a quality and value-adding Business Risk Review efficiently.
What we're looking for
- With 5–8 years of relevant experience in wholesale/corporate banking, credit risk, credit review/audit, credit underwriting, or a related function, with solid experience in credit products and credit processes.
- Has strong financial evaluation and credit analysis skills, with the ability to assess financial statements, cash flows, repayment capacity, industry/market conditions, and overall credit quality.
- With a highly analytical, probing, and critical mindset, with sound judgment to identify key risks and weaknesses beyond credit proposals and internal data.
- Must have an independent and self-directed approach, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and make sound, objective assessments.
- Has excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence to discuss and present credit and risk matters to all levels.
- With strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, capable of supervising teams and constructively challenging credit decisions.
