We are seeking a highly analytical and hands-on Portfolio & Collections Lead to manage loan portfolio performance and conduct day-to-day collections activities for our consumer lending business. This role requires strong logical thinking, the ability to analyze loan performance data, and direct involvement in customer outreach and delinquency management.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze loan portfolio performance, including delinquency trends, roll rates, and repayment behavior.
- Perform hands-on collections activities, including contacting borrowers by phone, text, or email to resolve delinquent accounts.
- Develop and implement collections strategies to improve repayment rates and reduce losses.
- Track portfolio metrics such as delinquency, recoveries, charge-offs, and cure rates.
- Use Excel and operational data to identify trends and recommend improvements to collections strategies.
- Work directly with customers to negotiate payment arrangements and resolve outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate records of collections activities and borrower communications.
- Identify operational issues in underwriting, servicing, or collections that may impact portfolio performance.
- Prepare regular portfolio performance reports for management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in a consumer lending business, with experience in collections or portfolio management.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills with the ability to interpret loan performance data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with datasets and performance tracking.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills when interacting with borrowers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to balance data analysis and operational collections work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with loan servicing systems or collections platforms.
- Experience handling delinquent accounts across multiple stages of collections.
- Familiarity with consumer lending compliance and collections best practices.
