Port machinery technician

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer to provide technical and field service support for SANY Port Machinery and Heavy Equipment in the Surigao area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for equipment inspection, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, commissioning, and technical support for customers operating port and material-handling equipment. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, field-service experience, and the ability to work independently at customer sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct inspection, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and servicing of SANY port machinery and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic system issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform field service activities at ports, terminals, industrial facilities, warehouses, and customer sites.
• Support the installation, commissioning, testing, and operation of newly delivered equipment.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance and recommend corrective actions to prevent equipment downtime.
• Respond promptly to customer service requests and equipment breakdowns.
• Prepare detailed service reports, inspection reports, troubleshooting reports, and maintenance records.
• Coordinate with customers regarding equipment condition, technical concerns, repair requirements, and recommended solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and basic equipment-operation training to customers and operators when required.
• Coordinate with the Service Manager, Parts Department, and other technical teams regarding repair requirements and spare parts.
• Monitor recurring equipment issues and provide recommendations for improving equipment reliability and performance.
• Ensure that all service activities are performed in accordance with SANY technical standards, safety procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain proper service documentation and update the company's service/CRM system.
• Perform other technical and field-service duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Preferably a licensed Engineer, but relevant technical experience will also be considered.
• At least 3–5 years of experience as a Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Heavy Equipment Engineer, or similar role.
• Experience in heavy equipment, port machinery, material-handling equipment, construction equipment, industrial equipment, or automotive machinery is highly preferred.
• Experience with port equipment such as reach stackers, container handlers, forklifts, terminal tractors, cranes, or similar machinery is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical/service manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Willingness to conduct fieldwork, site visits, and emergency breakdown response when required.
• Willing to be assigned in Surigao and nearby areas.
• Willing to travel to customer sites and project locations.
• With a valid driver's license is preferred.
