Pollution Control Officer

Job Summary

We are looking for a DENR-accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO) to ensure the company's compliance with Philippine environmental laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will oversee environmental compliance programs, maintain permits and reports, and promote sustainable practices across our cold chain facilities and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with DENR regulations and other applicable environmental laws.
• Act as the company's accredited Pollution Control Officer and primary liaison with DENR and other regulatory agencies.
• Prepare, submit, and maintain all required environmental reports, permits, and compliance documents.
• Monitor waste management, wastewater, air emissions, hazardous waste, and pollution control measures.
• Conduct regular environmental inspections and compliance audits across facilities.
• Develop and implement environmental policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives.
• Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct environmental awareness and compliance training for employees.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring activities and ensure timely renewal of permits and accreditations.
• Support ISO 14001 and other environmental management initiatives, if applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or any related field.
• Must possess a valid DENR Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Accreditation/Certificate.
• At least 2â€3 years of experience as a Pollution Control Officer or in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
• Knowledgeable in Philippine environmental laws, DENR regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in the logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, food processing, or cold chain industry is an advantage.
• Strong documentation, report preparation, and regulatory coordination skills.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling DENR inspections, environmental audits, and permit applications.
• Familiarity with hazardous waste management, wastewater treatment, and refrigerant/environmental compliance in cold storage operations.
• Experience implementing environmental management systems such as ISO 14001 is an advantage.
