You will be the bridge between our sales team, coaches, and clients, ensuring every client receives an exceptional experience from their first interaction with Freedom Academy.
Role MissionFreedom Academy is looking for a highly skilled and creative Podcast Video Editor to join our content team.
This role is responsible for transforming raw podcast recordings into polished, engaging, and professional video content for YouTube and other digital platforms. You will work with long-form podcast recordings and repurpose them into compelling short-form content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube Shorts.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, audience retention, sound design, captions, visual editing and social media content trends. You should be able to identify the strongest moments from a conversation and turn them into content that captures attention and encourages viewers to watch, engage and share.
This is a hands-on editing role suited to someone who enjoys working with podcast and educational content and understands how to make long-form conversations visually engaging.
Key ResponsibilitiesPODCAST VIDEO EDITING- Edit full-length podcast episodes from raw video and audio recordings into polished, professional episodes ready for YouTube and other platforms.
- Clean and enhance audio, including removing background noise, unwanted sounds, pauses and other distractions.
- Synchronise and balance multiple camera angles and audio tracks.
- Apply professional cuts, transitions, zooms, framing and pacing to maintain viewer engagement.
- Perform colour correction and grading to maintain a consistent, professional visual style.
- Add appropriate B-roll, stock footage, images, screenshots and other visual elements where required.
- Add branded intros, outros, lower thirds, titles and other recurring podcast elements.
- Ensure videos are correctly formatted, exported and delivered according to platform requirements.
- Identify the strongest, most engaging and valuable moments from podcast episodes.
- Create short-form videos, reels and clips from long-form podcast recordings.
- Edit content specifically for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook and YouTube Shorts.
- Create strong hooks within the opening seconds of short-form videos.
- Add dynamic captions, text overlays, zooms, cuts, graphics and other visual elements to improve retention.
- Create multiple content variations from a single podcast episode where appropriate.
- Understand current short-form video trends and apply relevant editing techniques without compromising the Freedom Academy brand.
- Make editorial decisions that improve pacing, clarity and viewer retention.
- Identify moments that can be turned into compelling stories, educational clips, hooks or social media content.
- Remove unnecessary sections, repetition, long pauses and content that negatively affects pacing.
- Structure edits so that the content is easy to follow and keeps the audience engaged.
- Use visual storytelling techniques to make educational and conversational content more dynamic.
- Follow Freedom Academy's established visual identity and content style.
- Maintain consistency across podcast episodes, YouTube videos and short-form content.
- Ensure fonts, captions, colours, graphics, animations and other visual elements are used consistently.
- Maintain organised project files, editing assets, templates and final exports.
- Work closely with the content and marketing teams to ensure videos support broader content and marketing objectives.
- Repurpose each podcast episode into multiple content formats where appropriate.
- Create short-form clips, highlight videos and other social-first content from long-form recordings.
- Collaborate with the content team to identify potential topics and clips that can perform well across different platforms.
- Help develop an efficient workflow for turning one podcast recording into a range of high-quality content assets.
- Work closely with the content, marketing and leadership teams to understand creative direction and priorities.
- Receive and implement feedback efficiently.
- Manage multiple editing projects and meet agreed production deadlines.
- Communicate proactively regarding project progress, challenges and required information.
- Maintain a high standard of quality while working efficiently within production timelines.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or an equivalent professional video editing platform.
- Strong understanding of professional video editing, pacing and storytelling.
- Strong knowledge of colour correction and grading.
- Strong audio editing and sound design skills.
- Experience editing multi-camera podcast or interview footage.
- Experience creating short-form social media content.
- Knowledge of Adobe After Effects or similar motion graphics software is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook and YouTube Shorts.
- Understanding of audience retention and what makes short-form content engaging.
- Ability to create strong visual hooks and engaging edits.
- Awareness of current video editing and social media content trends.
- Strong creative judgement and an excellent eye for detail.
- Ability to identify the most valuable and engaging moments within long-form conversations.
- Strong sense of timing, pacing and storytelling.
- Ability to turn educational or conversational content into engaging visual content.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excellent file management and project organisation skills.
- Minimum 3 years of professional video editing experience.
- Proven experience editing podcasts, interviews, webinars, educational content or similar long-form video content.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating long-form and short-form video editing.
- Experience creating social media video content is highly desirable.
- Experience working with YouTube content is highly desirable.
- Professional experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent editing software.
- Experience with audio editing, colour correction and captions.
- Experience with motion graphics or After Effects is an advantage.
- A degree or formal qualification in Multimedia, Film, Video Production, Digital Media or a related field is advantageous but not essential where strong practical experience and portfolio are demonstrated.
- A dedicated home office where you can work without distraction.
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection of 50 Mbps or higher.
- A high-performance computer capable of handling professional video editing software and large video files.
- Ability to work reliably during the required Freedom Academy working hours.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as part of a remote team.
We are looking for someone who is more than just technically capable of editing video.
You should have a strong editorial eye and understand what makes people stop scrolling, keep watching and engage with content.
You should be able to take hours of raw podcast footage and confidently determine:
- What should stay and what should be removed
- Which moments have the strongest storytelling potential
- How to create an effective hook
- Where to add B-roll, captions, graphics or visual changes
- How to maintain audience attention throughout an episode
- Which moments should be repurposed into short-form content
