Job Summary: The PMO Data & Financial Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the financial governance and strategic portfolio management functions of the enterprise PMO at Labrador Information Transparency Inc. This role will focus on developing and analyzing financial models, tracking project performance against budget, and providing data-driven insights to maximize ROI on company initiatives. The analyst will ensure financial transparency and support informed decision-making across the project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Assist in the development and maintenance of sophisticated ROI models, business case templates, and investment evaluation frameworks for strategic initiatives.
- Performance Tracking: Support the implementation and ongoing operation of earned value management systems to track project performance against budget and schedule.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports related to project investments, ensuring transparency and providing actionable insights to stakeholders. This includes cost baseline monitoring with variance thresholds.
- Capital Planning & Risk Assessment: Contribute to capital planning processes that align with corporate financial objectives. Assist in leading financial risk assessments for major initiatives and support the development of mitigation strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Finance teams to ensure alignment between project budgets and corporate financial goals.
- Metrics & Value Creation: Drive value creation by designing, tracking, and analyzing financial performance metrics, delivering insightful reports to support strategic decision-making bodies.
- Portfolio Data Analysis: Assist in gathering, analyzing, and presenting data for portfolio reviews to optimize resource allocation and maximize organizational value.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative field. A degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, PMP with a strong financial focus) are a plus.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, business intelligence, or a data-focused role, preferably within a project-driven environment or a PMO. Experience with financial modeling and reporting is essential.
- Skills:
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Advanced Excel skills are mandatory; experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and project portfolio management software (e.g., Jira Align, Smartsheet, Wrike) is highly desirable.
- Understanding of earned value management (EVM) principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data handling and reporting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, particularly with Finance teams.
