Job Description

Work from home and join a fast-growing Australian fintech company! We're seeking an experienced Project Manager who has a background in successfully implementing and blending Agile and Waterfall methodologies across multiple software development projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • General Qualifications:
    • Be a Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines
    • Secure a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

    • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing for reports, presentations, and business discussions
    • Demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, identify issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend effective solutions
    • Take full ownership of all work, from problem identification to solution implementation
    • Proactively seek learning opportunities and embrace challenges

  • Professional Experience:
    • Command a minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience managing projects from initiation through closure
    • Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing multiple small-to-medium-scale projects concurrently
    • Exhibit experience in developing detailed project schedules, tracking milestones, and managing project scope effectively
  • Technical Skills:
    • Master core project scheduling and tracking tools (Jira, MS Project, Asana, Trello) and associated office productivity suites
    • Command a solid working knowledge of at least one formal project methodology (Waterfall, Scrum) and apply its principles consistently
    • Possess proficiency in identifying, documenting, and tracking project risks and issues through resolution
  • Specialized Knowledge:
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the project budget lifecycle, including initial estimation, tracking actuals, and variance reporting
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of stakeholder communication and expectation management for a typical project team size
    • Exhibit proven capability in leading and motivating a project team without direct authority
Good To Have

  • Hold a foundational Project Management certification, such as CAPM, Scrum Master Certifications (PSM, CSM) or equivalent
  • Hold or actively pursue the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Bring experience utilizing Agile techniques to manage portions of a project delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Requirements Definition:
    • Drive precise project scope, goals, and deliverables, collaborating strategically with stakeholders
    • Develop and meticulously manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, integrating robust resource allocation and proactive risk management
  • Project Execution and Monitoring:
    • Execute projects with precision, continuously monitoring progress, expertly managing changes, and guaranteeing adherence to EDM standards
    • Master and apply appropriate project management methodologies to ensure optimal project delivery
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Facilitate highly effective communication and transparent status reporting to all stakeholders, proactively managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle
    • Proactively identify and strategically manage all key project stakeholders across diverse functional areas
    • Cultivate and maintain robust working relationships with functional leaders and their teams, ensuring alignment and collaborative synergy
    • Lead and facilitate impactful cross-functional meetings, workshops, and decision-making processes, driving productive collaboration and consensus
    • Tailor and optimize communication strategies to meet the specific needs, nuances, and understanding of diverse functional audiences, ensuring clarity and engagement
  • Resource Management:
    • Strategically coordinate with functional managers to secure and optimize the allocation of essential projects from their respective departments
    • Rigorously monitor resource utilization across all functional teams, proactively identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks or allocation inefficiencies
    • Negotiate resource commitments with authority and resolve conflicts with functional leads to ensure critical project milestones are met without deviation
  • Risk and Issue Management:
    • Proactively identify, meticulously assess, and effectively mitigate all project risks and issues that may originate from or impact various functional areas
    • Develop and implement robust contingency plans in close collaboration with relevant functional experts, minimizing potential disruptions
    • Promptly escalate critical risks and issues to appropriate functional heads or senior leadership, driving timely and decisive resolution
  • Quality Assurance and Testing:
    • Guarantee adherence to stringent quality standards in project execution
  • Process Improvement and Best Practices:
    • Conduct rigorous post-project evaluations to extract critical lessons learned and champion the implementation of best practices for future initiatives
    • Champion and drive the organization-wide adoption of best practice project management methodologies, tools, and principles
    • Continuously identify and capitalize on opportunities for process improvement within the project lifecycle, collaborating with functional teams to implement impactful enhancements
    • Lead contributions to the development, standardization, and continuous refinement of enterprise-level project management frameworks and templates
  • Team Management:
    • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and implement personalized development plans to guide and mentor team members
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements
    • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team environment
    • Address and resolve team conflicts in a timely and constructive manner
  • Project Leadership:
    • Act as the primary technical expert and first point of escalation for project-related issues and questions
    • Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards
    • Serve as the main communicator between the team and stakeholders, while proactively identifying and mitigating project risks
  • Team Utilization:
    • Assign tasks based on team skills and workload, setting clear expectations for project timelines and deliverables
    • Proactively remove roadblocks and ensure the team has the necessary resources to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • Active Contribution:
    • Serve as a hands-on contributor by performing tasks when needed due to capacity deficits or to stay current with team workflows
  • KPI Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to highlight team performance and identify trends
    • Present data-driven reports and insights to management to inform strategic decisions and improve team outcomes
  • Administrative:
    • Oversee and approve team time off requests, expense reports, and maintain accurate records of performance metrics
  • Leading Company Initiatives (OKRs):
    • Communicate company-wide goals and objectives (OKRs) to the team, explaining how their work contributes to the bigger picture
    • Translate high-level OKRs into actionable tasks and projects for the team
    • Monitor the team's progress toward OKRs and make adjustments as needed
    • Act as a liaison between the team and senior leadership, providing updates and advocating for the team's needs
  • Company Culture and Policies:
    • Lead by example to model Elemnta's core values and ensure the team adheres to all company policies
    • Promote a culture of open communication, trust, and mutual respect by actively recognizing team members efforts
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Partner with HR to define hiring needs and participate in the recruitment and candidate selection process
    • Develop and execute comprehensive onboarding plans to integrate new hires into the team and their roles
This is a full-time contractual position following the 9 AM to 6 PM Manila schedule.
