Platform Engineer

The Platform Engineer maintains the testing, deployment, monitoring, and platform capabilities required for reliable software delivery.

What You'll Do

Platform Reliability and Testing

• Develop and maintain E2E tests based on Sprint commitments.
• Keep local and AWS test environments aligned with deployed releases.
• Improve test coverage, reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
• Maintain Grafana dashboards for metrics, traces, and logs.
• Investigate test failures and missing or inconsistent telemetry.
• Maintain non-functional testing tools and environments.
• Support performance, capacity, resilience, and chaos testing.
• Conduct proofs of concept using technologies such as k3d and chaos-testing tools.
• Recommend improvements to testing, monitoring, and platform reliability.

Deployment and Integration Validation

• Support end-of-Sprint deployments.
• Maintain Kubernetes manifests and configuration YAML files.
• Validate configurations before and after deployment.
• Verify services and integrations using APIs, databases, logs, metrics, traces, and platform tools.
• Investigate deployment, configuration, networking, and integration issues.
• Resolve platform-related issues and escalate application-specific issues with diagnostic evidence.

Incident Investigation and Technical Support

• Investigate issues in Development, Staging, and Production.
• Reproduce reported issues when possible.
• Collect and analyze logs, metrics, traces, API responses, configuration details, and database records.
• Determine whether issues originate from the platform, environment, deployment configuration, integration, or application.
• Resolve issues within the platform scope.
• Escalate application-specific issues with findings and reproduction steps.
• Document resolutions and follow-up actions.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Experience with Linux, AWS, Kubernetes, and YAML configuration.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation, environment setup, deployment support, and
• troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Go for developing and maintaining platform tools, test utilities, and integrations.
• Experience developing or maintaining automated E2E tests.
• Familiarity with API testing and database validation.
• Experience troubleshooting using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Familiarity with Grafana or similar observability tools.
• Understanding of deployments, CI/CD, and environment management.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance, load, resilience, or chaos testing.
• Familiarity with k3d or local Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with distributed systems and service integrations.
• Experience maintaining non-functional testing tools.
