Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Fleet Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of all plant, tools, and machinery used in fit-out construction projects.
  • Plan and coordinate equipment allocation to multiple sites based on project needs and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, parts, and consumables; ensure timely procurement and replacements.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Coordinate repair activities with internal technicians or external vendors, ensuring quality and cost-effective solutions.

Safety & Compliance

  • Set and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance standards for plant operations and equipment storage.
  • Make strategic decisions on
  • safety protocols, approve risk mitigation plans, and ensure adherence to regulatory and company requirements.
  • Lead periodic safety performance reviews and authorize corrective actions based on inspection results and risk assessments.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Procurement, and Site Teams to align equipment support with fit-out schedules and project demands.
  • Support project planning by providing machine/equipment planning input, capacity needs, and logistical considerations.

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Monitor and manage department budgets related to plant operations, maintenance, and equipment acquisition.
  • Prepare operational reports, maintenance records, and performance metrics for senior management review.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant and machine-related personnel, ensuring clear roles, performance goals, and training plans.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, work quality, and continuous improvement within the plant and site crews.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 36 years experience in construction plant/equipment management, ideally with exposure to interior fit-out or building renovation environments.
  • Proven track record of leading plant operations, maintenance planning, and team supervision in fast-paced construction settings.
