Position Summary
The Plant Finance Controller (AVP) is responsible for managing the financial operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The role acts as a strategic finance partner to plant leadership, supporting operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the plant.
- Analyze monthly financial performance and provide variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year results.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to improve plant profitability and operational performance.
- Prepare management reports and financial presentations for leadership.
- Manage all plant-related financial activities, including manufacturing costs, labor costs, overhead expenses, and production efficiency.
- Monitor standard costing and conduct variance analysis on materials, labor, and overhead.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support productivity improvement initiatives.
- Partner with operations teams to drive cost optimization and operational excellence.
- Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory activities.
- Monitor inventory levels, wastage, obsolescence, and slow-moving stocks.
- Support working capital management initiatives and ensure accurate inventory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.
- Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain robust financial controls across plant operations.
- Monitor and review capital expenditures and project investments.
- Serve as a key finance business partner to the Plant Manager and Operations Leadership Team.
- Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and investment decisions.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to drive business performance.
- Lead and develop the plant finance team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA is preferred.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in FMCG manufacturing finance.
- Proven experience as a Plant Finance Controller, Plant Controller, Manufacturing Controller, Factory Finance Manager, or equivalent role.
