SN Aboitiz Power Group is looking for a highly skilled Plant Control Engineer to join our Operations department. In this critical role, you will be responsible for implementing operating orders and procedures to ensure our plant generating equipment and auxiliaries are operating safely and efficiently within established guidelines.
Reporting directly to the Operations Sr Supervisor, you will be at the heart of our Central Remote Operating Center, driving the operational success of our MAGAT, MARIS, BINGA, and AMBUKLAO hydroelectric power plants, as well as our BESS and Solar facilities

What You Will Do:
- Core Operations: Operate power plant generating units and switchyard equipment through the main control switchboard and local controls
- System Control: Perform start-up, synchronization, and shutdown of turbine generator, battery, and inverter units. Adjust controls to generate specified electrical power and maintain system frequency and voltage.
- Monitoring & SCADA: Monitor active/reactive power, voltage, current, and temperature, and report alarms, trips, or abnormalities observed via SCADA monitoring.
- Troubleshooting & Emergency Response: Implement proper procedures during plant disturbances. Perform remedial measures and initial troubleshooting to address equipment failures or plant outages.
- Continuous Surveillance: Hourly monitoring of power plant annunciation systems, metering points, fire alarms, protection systems, switchgears, transformers, and excitation systems. Monitor for possible cybersecurity threats and oversee site CCTVs.
- Compliance & Record-Keeping: Maintain complete operational records, log sheets, and 5-minute data integrity via mirror servers. Assist in the implementation of Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, and Asset).
Qualifications We Are Looking For:
- Education: Licensed/Registered Electrical, Electronics and Communication, or Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience: Preferably at least one (1) year of experience in a related field.
- Expertise: Working knowledge of best practices and industry standards in hydropower plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar operations, and other renewable energy technologies
