About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant Accounting Manager to lead and oversee all accounting and financial control functions within our manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for managing production costing, inventory accounting, logistics cost analysis, and financial reporting while partnering closely with operations and finance teams to drive efficiency, accuracy, and cost optimization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong manufacturing accounting experience, a deep understanding of inventory and cost management, and the ability to provide strategic insights that support operational excellence and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor production costing and manufacturing costs, including variance analysis and cost performance reporting.
- Prepare and analyze wastage reports, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
- Oversee and control delivery, distribution, and supply chain-related costs.
- Lead inventory accounting activities, including stock counts, reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory.
- Conduct detailed logistics cost analysis and identify operational inefficiencies and wastage.
- Review and reconcile product returns and related inventory records, ensuring accuracy of transactions processed by clerical staff.
- Establish and maintain strong financial controls and compliance procedures across warehouse, raw materials, and finished goods operations.
- Lead, coach, and develop the plant accounting team while collaborating closely with production, warehouse, procurement, and supply chain functions.
- Coordinate with the Financial Accounting Manager to ensure timely and accurate submission of costing, inventory, purchase receiving, and returns information for month-end and financial reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting requirements related to plant operations.
