The Planning Specialists is responsible for monitoring inventory performance, supporting demand and supply planning activities, maintaining inventory accuracy, and providing analytical insights to optimize stock levels and working capital. This role works closely with procurement, warehouse operations, supply chain, and productions teams to ensure the right inventory is available at the right time while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
The role will report to Supply Chain Manager.
- Monitor inventory levels at warehouses and productions to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Analyze inventory trends, demand patterns, and historical consumption to support inventory planning.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate safety stock, reorder points, and inventory parameters.
- Support supply chain in balancing service level targets and inventory investment.
- Identify risks of stockouts, overstocks, or slow-moving inventory and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead in periodic inventory review and replenishment planning cycles.
- Analyze trends, seasonality, and demand variability to support supply and demand planning activities.
- Assist in preparing inventory forecasts and replenishment recommendations.
- Lead cross-functional planning activities including Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Identify demand anomalies or unexpected consumption patterns and escalate to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor inventory accuracy between physical stock and system records.
- Assist in conducting cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in collaboration with warehouse teams.
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the company's ERP system.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards on key inventory metrics such as but not limited to:
• Inventory turnover
• Days of inventory on hand (DOH)
• Service levels
• Backorders
- Obsolete and slow-moving inventory
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to improve inventory efficiency.
- Support management reviews by preparing inventory performance reports.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to support timely replenishment and prevent stock shortages.
- Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure accurate receiving, storage, and stock movement.
- Collaborate with production and finance for consumptions and demand changes.
- Assist in ensuring effective communication of inventory availability across departments.
- Monitor aging inventory and identify slow-moving or obsolete items.
- Support initiatives to reduce excess inventory and improve inventory turnover.
- Assist in analyzing inventory holding costs and working capital impact.
- Recommend inventory optimization strategies to improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate inventory parameters and data in the ERP or inventory management system.
- Support system improvements related to inventory planning and reporting.
- Assist in developing tools and dashboards for inventory tracking and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory planning, supply chain analytics, or a related field.
- Certification in inventory or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM) is preferred.
- Good Communication
- At least with experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiar in ERP systems and has advance Microsoft excel
